Fungus is no friend to turf and has caused significant headaches in recent years, developing not only in grass but also on trees and shrubs. Getting rid of fungus can be a daunting task because it may appear rapidly, sometimes even overnight. What was once a beautiful, lush landscape has now succumbed to brown patches and other issues.

LawnRx offers preventive fungus control programs to help protect your property from falling victim to a fungus. A fungus can only be eradicated, but the damaged caused by the fungus cannot be reversed.

There are different types of fungus and disease that can be hard to diagnose due to their similar appearances and shared traits. We recommend having a professional diagnosis before treatment.

What to do if you have fungus

To prevent extensive damage it is critical to act immediately. Fungicides will help treat the infected landscape but will NOT reverse the damage.

How to Prevent Fungus

Keep your lawn healthy lawn through preventative maintenance programs. Most of the time, fungus starts before noticed. By that time the fungus has taken hold, the battle has already begun and can become costly and frustrating.

LawnRx's Lawn Care Programs take a holistic approach to landscapes. We incorporate different strategies mixed with IPM (Integrated Pest Management) which is one of the best defenses against preventing fungus.

Does Lawn Fungus Control Work?

Yes, when applied correctly to the right fungus at the right time. Through our LawnRx Prescription Process, we assess and treat fungus properly, preventing wasted money, time and more of your lawn.

Things That Can Contribute To Fungus

Having a weak lawn opens the door to fungus. Taking proper preventative measures throughout all four seasons through a proper Lawn Care Program(s) helps keep your lawn in good health.

Things that can contribute to a weak lawn:

Compacted soil

Compacted soil makes it difficult for roots to grow deep and. Compaction happens from play, gravity, and weather. Core aeration helps expand and keep roots healthy.

Proper Fertilization and Seeding

Proper fertilization and seeding throughout the different seasons help keep lawns and trees and shrubs healthy.

Mowing

Mower blades should be sharp, and grass should not be cut more than one-third of its length.

Thatch

Too much thatch can block sun, water, and nutrients causing growth issues. Core aeration can help control thatch.

Watering

Proper watering is critical for deep roots to grow which prevents lawn disease. Over or under-watering can cause major issues. Watering the lawn in the early morning allows for it to dry thoroughly by night. Early morning watering also helps prevent molds and fungus that could grow in moisture-rich conditions overnight.
